LaMelo Ball is being sued by a former publicist who claims she owes him over $ 10 million for the PR services she provided to custody of the Charlotte Hornets in 2019, including appearances on a sports program in streaming and a shoe contract.

Amber Johnson’s lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court, filed Monday, alleges breach of contract. A representative of the 20-year-old Ball could not be reached immediately.

According to the lawsuit, in June 2019, Johnson secured an opportunity for Ball on the live show “Game Time” on the social streaming platform Caffeine.tv.

After Ball’s success on the show, Ball and his agent and manager, Jermaine Jackson, said Ball wanted Johnson to provide public relations services and secure brand partnership deals with Ball, the lawsuit says.

The parties verbally agreed the following month that Johnson would receive a 10% finder’s commission for any branded contracts she obtained for Ball, as well as reimbursement of any out-of-pocket expenses she incurred on his behalf. , indicates the pursuit.

That same month, Johnson reached out to the entertainment division of Puma North America Inc. to find out if the company might be interested in a brand partnership with Ball in which the goalie would be paid to wear Puma shoes, the suit says.

But after talks appeared to be heading towards a deal, Jackson, a 45-year-old former NBA keeper, told Johnson in August 2019 to stop talks with Puma because Ball was likely to strike a similar deal with Nike. , depending on the costume.

However, despite Jackson’s statements, Johnson later found out that Ball had signed his own $ 100 million contract with Puma, according to the lawsuit.

“Johnson … alleges she played a pivotal role in identifying a potential deal between Ball and Puma,” the lawsuit said.

Johnson also provided other public relations services and incurred approximately $ 4,870 in personal expenses on Ball’s behalf, including the purchase of clothing for Ball and Jackson to attend a celebrity derby in San Diego and the payment. an agent to present an idea for a Ball docusery to the Fox network. , indicates the costume. However, Johnson was never reimbursed, according to the lawsuit.

Johnson alleges that Ball owes her more than $ 10 million based on finder’s fees for the Caffeine.tv and Puma deals, as well as out-of-pocket money she spent on his behalf.
