Editor’s Notes: Last year’s Netflix documentary, The last dance, took us from the playoffs to the championships, to Michael Jordan’s last game. It is an emotional roller coaster that brings new life to the spectacle of its games. Generations who have grown to love the star through his signature Nike sneakers have had the opportunity to learn not only the story behind the legend, but also the moments that have inspired countless colourways.

While Jordan was, of course, the star of the show, the documentary also shed light on the teammates and coaches who elevated his game. The method behind the madness of it all was Phil Jackson. Nicknamed “Zen Master,” Jackson was a practicing Buddhist and brought the teachings of religion into the game, bringing a balanced approach to the forefront of competitive sport.

With the “Zen Master” Air Jordan 4, Nike pays homage to Jordan and Jackson’s close friendship and their unforgettable career together. The silhouette appears to be very conceptual and unlike any Jordan 4 in recent history. Through the mockups provided by SneakerFiles, it’s clear that the sneaker’s upper will have a serene, galaxy-like finish complemented by monochrome accents.

While official images have yet to surface, this pair has already turned heads. Could this eclectic treatment mean a new concept-driven direction for the AJ4 colourways?
