Pete Davidson thrilled Elon Musk hosts ‘SNL’, doesn’t understand ‘why people panic’

“The guy who makes the Earth better, makes cool things, and sends people to Mars?” Comedian Says The announcement that Tesla CEO Elon Musk will host “Saturday Night Live” this week has drawn reactions from viewers and members of the cast. But Pete Davidson is not one of them. “I don’t know why people are freaking out,” Davidson said in a “Late Night With Seth Meyers” appearance, ““ They’re like, ‘Oh, I can’t believe Elon Musk is the host!’ And I’m like, “The guy who makes Earth better, makes cool things, and sends people to Mars?” During his conversation with Meyers, Davidson had yet to meet Musk, but said he plans to have dinner with billionaire and “SNL” producer Lorne Michaels later that night. “I’m really horny, man,” he said. “I’m going to ask him like a Tesla or s…. Much of the controversy (and criticism leveled at SNL and NBC) revolves around Musk’s anti-union sentiments, online trolling, and the spread of false information about the COVID-19 pandemic. Some of Davidson’s “SNL” cast comrades have expressed their lack of enthusiasm online. On Instagram, Bowen Yang reposted a tweet from Musk saying, “Let’s find out how much alive Saturday Night Live really is,” with a sad face and the question “What the hell is that?” dying to bowen yang’s instagram stories after snl announced that Elon Musk is hosting pic.twitter.com/6VVQ47frkR – megan (@chaoticmlkhotel) April 25, 2021 In response to another recent tweet from the billionaire asking for ideas for “skits,” Chris Redd replied, “First I would call Em skits.” First I’d call Em skits 😂 https://t.co/37liDrKYjo – Chris Redd (@Reddsaidit) May 2, 2021 Andrew Dismukes also joked that the “ONLY CEO I WANT TO SKETCH WITH IS DEAR- E OTERI, ”With an image of“ SNL ”caption Cheri Oteri on her Instagram. Aidy Bryant appeared to react sly to the news by sharing a tweet from Bernie Sanders about the “moral obscenity” of the distribution of wealth in America. Still, Davidson isn’t the only one in his enthusiasm for working with Musk. Michael Che, co-host of “Weekend Update,” shared the sentiment in an interview with Meyers earlier this week. “It’s going to be exciting too,” Che said. “He’s the richest man in the world, how could you not be excited for that?” According to Musk, his interactions in Studio 8H have only been friendly so far. He described the controversy surrounding his new concert at Page Six as “much ado about nothing”.
